2D-BioPAD/MUNASET Joint Technology Workshop

On July 8th, partners from the 2D-BioPAD and MUNASET projects, both initiatives members of the Graphene Flagship Initiative, came together for a joint online technology workshop focused on advancing healthcare diagnostics and therapy monitoring. Held online, the session aimed to leverage cutting-edge materials and AI for biomedical applications.

2D-BioPAD aims to develop a new Point-of-Care In-Vitro Diagnostic system for early Alzheimer's Disease detection. The approach combines graphene, nanomaterials, aptamers, and AI to improve diagnostic accuracy.

MUNASET is pioneering graphene-based devices to monitor therapies for depression and other psychiatric disorders, aiming to transform mental health care.

Participants from MUNASET included experts from Hochschule Kaiserslautern, Graphenea Semiconductor SL, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd., focusing on biosensors and device fabrication.

Representatives from 2D-BioPAD included partners like Palacký University Olomouc (project coordinator), Catalan Institute of Science and Nanotechnology, Grapheal, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and Novaptech, specialising in graphene derivatives, biosensors, and aptamers.

The workshop concluded with a discussion aimed at finding opportunities for collaboration. Next, mark your calendars for October 17th, 2024, when the biomed parallel session, co-organised by these two projects, will take place during Graphene Week 2024.
